Fuel Rail

Alrighty, I'm starting to give serious thought to my next set of upgrades for the car...namely the fuel system. The SAFC-2 goes into the car in a couple of weeks...and soon after that I'll want to actually be able to USE it.

I'm aiming to put 440 injectors, and a 255lph bosch fuel pump into the car...and I'll likely look at an FPR of some sort.

Question #1 ...are there aftermarket fuel rails available for the car (1999)? Or will the stock fuel rail handle both the pressure, and the increased fuel flow?

Question #2 ...SARD, Aeromotive, and AEM all have FPR's...anyone out there want to recommend, or NOT recommend any of the above?

Obviously in order to increase power from there I'll have to look at increasing the amount of air down the pipe.

1.With an AFPR and bigger injectors the stock fuel rail would be up to the task
2. Check the all motor section various people have used various, most have forked up some extra money and got a nismo AFPR, but some have had good success with some from ebay.

How do you plan to increase the amount of air? If the motor will be N/A then bigger injects and fuel pump would be overkill, different intake and pathfinder throttle body would about the most you could do to increase air and it wont be by too much.

Get a good tune with the SAFC2 and dont worry about bigger injectors and upgraded fuel pump.

Well the master plan is have the extra fuel this year...and then next year supercharge or turbocharge the car. But for now...I want to have the little items looked after before I examine the larger ones.

Thanks for the advice.

Look closely at the 90 deg corners as the rail circles all 6 cylinders. Just cut off any kinks in the metal part and carefully rebend the good line and fill any needed areas with hi quality fuel line. What you're basically doing is akin to mandrel bends opposed to crimped sections in your exhaust system! This is more than adequate for 450 to 500 FWHP.

Why upgrade now...unless you plan to run nitrous?...It really WILL be overkill without a turbo yet...Just get some 5th gen injectors and a fuel rail...theres no real reason to upgrade your fuel pump...BTW...Hlh0501, hal, when he was running his 95 turbo set up he was still usisng stock injectors, rail, and pump.
