Poorman HAI
It will be throaty but a mid-pipe+cone would be louder.
Costs whatever filter you decide to buy + MAF adapter it looks like.
Not hard at all. It also will more than likely DEcrese engine output.

just hacked mine about 3 days ago. Cut out half the side closest to the battery. DEFINITELY a loss in low-end power. You can definitely feel the change. Sound, I think, is incredible. Only gets real loud when you really wind out the gears. 1st is nice and throaty, and 2nd just growls when you punch on it. I love it. I get stared at from kids on campus
Also, make sure you save the piece you cut out, in case you want to glue the piece back in to make it stock.

I want that throaty sound but I do not want to lose my low end power. I don't have areas to rip the car, so I prefer that low end power off the start, basically up to third gear. I would say not to do the mod then?

Just buy a k&n and leave it alone or do it right and get a cheap HAI like a Bomz from ebay and get a better filter...

well I really dont want to lose that low end power so I think I'm gonna stick with the k&n box fit. I plan to do some performance mods hopefully over the summer.
Anyone got the thread that was posted about exhuast set ups and the sound they produced? I can't seem to find the page its on now...
