Corner Lights

I own a 1997 Maxima GLE, and when I used the turn signals, the corner lights doesn't come on. And I saw some newer and older modles' lights do come up when the turn signals are light up. How can I change that?

The reason that I asked this is because the turn signals in my Maxima is right in front of the bumper, the lights aren't on the side of the bumper, so every time I tried to change lanes, I have to be very careful, because I don't want other cars to change into the lane with me at the same time.

Any ideas? Thanks!

I read somewhere that when they started to restyle the 4th gen Maxima (post '96) that they got rid of the corner light thing when you put your turn signal on. It was one of the things that people complained about them changing. If this is true, seeing that you have a '97, they won't work like a 95 or 96. I could be wrong though.

Your talking about the parking lights next to the headlights. He's talking about the bumper lights.

IIRC All you have to do is cut the ground wire on the side light and hook that up to the ground of the turn signal. Its fairly simple and a good mod.

His fronts work, he's just wondering about the parking light on the bumper, if he can make it blink. So vehicles on his side can see that hes turning.

Yes, if people are behind me, they will know that I am changing lanes. But the drivers beside me won't because they won't be able to see my signals.

This would be usefull in a three lane road where both ppl from both outer lanes can change into the middle lane at the same time

What you can do is replace the whole front circuit with an 1157 socket but you need to run new wiring. It could be fairly complicated if you are not used to wirking with electrical circuits.

I didnt read everything above, but If you want your SIDE MARKERS to blink the same time your front Turn signals do, splice the FRONT TURN SIGNALS into the side markers.

I am talking about the clear lense part, right by the headlight, not the orange part.

* By the way, this is not my car. I borrowed it from someone else on this site. *

snap! I was right in the first place. Like I said, after 96, they didnt get brighter when you put your turn signal on....however, none of them blink stock.

If you buy a 1157 setup you can make it blink and stay on as well. You'll need to run a wire for the 1157's second filament to your existing turn signal. You'll also need to modify the lamp (dremel carefully) to make it fit in there. I would recommend using an LED bulb and sealing it to avoid moisture and that way you never have to change the bulb.

Yikes, Im not sure how you can do that, rather complex circuit. You would need to wire in a Integrated circuit, which would do logic based on the voltages that the chip is receiving.
I went to school for that one, good luck

Look on the internet for IC, you will be using AND Gates or OR gates, hahaha
Why dont you just shoulder check before signaling and switching lanes?
