Throttle Body Question - Now with PIC

I recently bought a TB from a member here and it has a TPS with 2 connections and not one like my current one. My current one is sticking and other problems including the TPS. I wanted this one because it was a TB that did not stick and came with a working TPS. Can I use this one or am I stuck with a TPS that I can not use.

I have a 1995 5sp and the TB I got came off a 1996 5sp.

Thanks!

Frank

I looked in the Factory Service Manual, all models 1995-1999 have the TPS which is the bottom terminal on your original post. The other terminal, the top one is the wide open/close throttle switch. I'm still confused on why yours only has one terminal, I think that Nissan made some models with no wide open/close throttle switch. I will look in to this and get back to you.

mine was the same way with the one plug. it was because early 95 maximas were obd 1 emissions and later 95's were obd 2 setups. I have a tps with the one connection if you are interested. PM me

My 98 has the same TB as your picture. If your 95 doesn't have that same one you will probably have to source one from a 95. Check Ebay.

Why don't you just try it (connecting to the potentiometer part instead of the WOT switch part) and see if it works?

My 95 only has one TPS connector and I would assume all 95s only have one. You can probably still use the 96+ TPS and just leave on connector unplugged.

95s are ODBII, the connector is on the passenger floorboard. However cars were not required to be until 96, so 95 Maximas are 1/2 way. 95s do not have all of the sensors, but you can hook up a ODBII unit to it.

My 95 also has only one connector. It rolled out of the factory on December 20th, 1994, so it's a pretty late 95.
