best replacement struts

What are most of the orgers running for aftermarket struts? The oem's were good, but am looking to maintain a good ride and handling. I see alot about kyb's and tokico. What models yield the best result? Thanks fellas

Do you guys like the tokiko packages with the illumina struts and springs? It's time for mine too and I figured I would add on to this thread instead of creating my own, seeing as how there are hundreds of threads asking the best strut/spring combo already.

I have seen some posts on the Tokico Illumina....seems to be a popular. How well do they work wtih oem springs? What struts are common to use in the rear with Illuminas up front?

not oem springs. get aftermarket springs. and if you care about the ride the illuminas will let you adjust from very soft to harsh.

not to contradict you but in terms of increasing handling i heard the tokiko package is not so good, (you will get mixed opinions about anything here) the only thing people have come to agree on is that the JICs rock, but they'll put a nice dent in your wallet, anyways the tokiko illuminas are very good struts but i suggest you go with a better spring/coil

hope this helps...

nobody has come to agree that the jics rock. where did you hear that from? what you hear about coilovers most of the time is that i have like a 3 inch drop dude and i will lower it even more.

well JICs are complete coilovers..not struts only.....and they are like 1800 bux...K-Sports are also Coilovers and are like 800 and up....Struts the best IMO are KONI......and JICs do rock but i dont think 1800 dollars worth of rockness...Tokico.Illuminas are a good choice for a decent price i say go with those or Konis if your just doing strut replacement

from what i've read ppl say jics are very nice on terms of drop and handling, the down side is the rough ride, why don't you think jics rock? i'd like to hear it.

ksport also make springs
1800 yes, is a good bit of money, hell 800 is alot of money, but you get what you pay for, reason prices are so high is because alot of time and engineering was put into it so it would surpass competitors.

bottom line IMO:
illuminas are the best bang for the buck, find some nice springs to go with it and ur set
