Clutch Problems
Clutch Problems
When I cam off an off-ramp to a stoplight I could not get my car back into gear. The clutch was not disengaging and I could not hear the throw-out bearing when depressing the clutch. Got it home, without the use of the clutch, and bled the system as it says in the FSM. Only when I took a crowbar and 'helped' by wrenching on the clutch arm did the clutch disengage. I finished bleeding the system and then put the car back together. Got in, and the dumb thing still does not work.
It sat while I was in Army training for about 3 months. When I started driving it again, about 2 thousand miles ago, the clutch release was halfway down the pedal throw instead of at the top like normal.
I hear that the hydraulic system in my 97 can be troublesome but I can not figure out what caused this problem in the first place or how to fix it.
Based on the fact it will throw the clutch slave piston and return quickly as normal I can not figure the problem is the clutch master cylinder.
thanks for the help
