Just got ES motor mounts installed on auto max without manual motor mount bracket

I ordered the Energy Suspension bushings from Cattman and went ahead and ordered the manual front motor mount for a 95 maxima which came with the bracket or tower from the dealership. I'm auto by the way. It was $110 at Allstar Nissan here in Baton Rouge. I go to get it installed at Mech Tech, and Nick, the head mechanic, and his fellow mechanics notice that the manual motor mount that I bought to switch out with my existing auto motor mount basically have the same dimensions. To make a long story short, they burned out the old bushing and removed the existing frame that lay inside the auto motor mount. End result, I have both front and rear ES motor mount bushings installed on my auto maxima! He did an auto to manual conversion on a 95 maxima a couple of weeks ago and said that they had no problems installing the ES motor mount bushings on it.

Basically, yes. It's been known that the rear motor mounts on the autos and manuals are the same. However, I had read on here earlier that you had to have a front manual motor mount bracket to use the ES bushing on the front mount as well. Not anymore.

Hmm this is interesting. Would this be the case for a 97 too? Why have others done this, and said it doesnt fit? If so then id definitely consider doing this.

Dont give out complete false information on this or you will screw some people over...

GXE's dont come with electronically controlled mounts like SE/GLE's do, thats why you have the regular 3.5" Front mount on your auto.

Thanks for the check, but I read in a previous thread on motor mounts that it wasn't the case. However, I did notice that there were no wires visible when the car was on the lift so you may be correct. An aside, I noticed clanking noises when the car is at parking lot speeds, say when I'm leaving the parking lot. I know it has something to do with the ES motor mount installation; I'll have it checked out tomorrow morning.

If you had a SE or GLE I bet you the ES bushing would NOT fit.

The information you read was incorrect. I know this for a FACT because I just did a auto -> 5spd swap and got the 5SPD Front Mount and the Auto mount off my SE, the AUTO mount is CLEARLY bigger than the 5spd mount.

You know, I can accept the fact that I'm wrong. However, I don't need to be told twice about it, especially after I've owned up to it already. Capeesh? Let it be said in the stickies that only GXE autos can use the ES motor mounts.

Are you kidding me?....this is the biggest load of CRAP on the orgy...all mounts should be interchangeable between GXE/SE/GLE

Are you listening to me or not? Of course there INTERCHANGEABLE inbetween TRIMS, but that doesnt mean they are the SAME...

You can put a GXE mount on a SE/GXE if you felt like it and vice versa.

BUT were talking about pressing in ES bushings in the MOUNTS, which will NOT fit auto SE/GLE's because of the electronically controlled mount which means the ES bushing does NOT fit...

Nobody said anything about the gxe/se/gle front mounts being un-interchangeable.

So whats the problem?

They are, it is suppose to make them stiffen up but I dont think it works. I might take a pic of the connector if I get bored.

The clanging noise was a small rock stuck between my rotor and brake sheild. Regarding this issue. When I ordered it from Cattman, Brian told me that ALL autos had to have the front mount replaced by a manual one. The thread that I read up on didn't explicitly state that the GXE auto front mount was the same as the manual. These were where my original statements came from. I would in no way intentionally give false misleading information. Anyway, the issue has been resolved and is over and done with.
