i have a 97se and it burns oil. sometimes has a starting problem and lets out a cloud of smoke. The check engine light is on for egr and evap. Though I didnt think that would cause a problem with oil burning. Anyone know what might cause it.

Well, simply DELETE them

 

A cloud of oil smoke upon start up indicates your valve guide seals are shot, not piston rings. You can have the heads rebuilt to cure that problem.
