help, clutch problem.
help, clutch problem.
I done my 5 speed swap 3 weeks ago. When it's out of the shop, the clutch feels funny, it's hard to press down, but when i press it 3/4 of the way, it feel like there isn't any pressure and it does the same on the way back. Well i got used to that, but now i got a more serious problem on hand. When i do a cold start in the morning, the clutch feels good, but the engage point for the gears are near the bottom of the clutch. When i drive it around and heat the car up, the engage point move up and up the clutch. One time it move up so much that i shift in gear and let go the clutch, the car wont' move b/c it wasn't engage in the gears. I had to tow it to the shop, but the next morning the mechanic look at the car, nothing was wrong with it. Anyone have an idea why the pressure in my clutch system is acting up like that.
the master and slave cyclinder are both new. Hmm could there be any leak on the lines that runs through it? well i read the haynes manual, it think my clutch pedal is overheating. could that be the case? or maybe i should take it to dealer and let them check it out?
Yeah, if your clutch is overheating it's usually because you're driving very badly. If you engage each gear fully and don't start at 5krpm all the time, your clutch will be fine where heat is concerned. You'd also definitely be able to smell it, as s0ber pointed out. I definitely agree that it's your hydraulic system, in fact it sounds like a leak somewhere to me...
yeah, i don't think it's my clutch plate, but it might be the clutch pedal assy. I'm running clutch 6 puck sprung clutch with 2x red pp. So i think the clutch will hope, and plus i don't even lunach my car at all. Is there anyway to test what is wrong with the hydrlic system?
haha, nice idea. Well i put a cardboard under my car tonight ill see if there is any fluid tomorrow morning when i wake up. I guess i'll keep on bleeding the hydric system and see how it works. if nothing works i'll take it to the deals.
