broken flex pipe = loss of power?
thats wat im feelin low end is weak all the sudden. my flex pipe sounds like a catback exhaust rite now... but i dont understand .. i mean the basic idea is that the earlier gasez escape the better performance, rite?

I had a similar hole in mine, car felt sluggish (but sounded great
). Anyway, I put in a Budget y-pipe and the difference is astounding. The rpms run up much quicker & the overall engine seems smoother and pulls stronger. I love driving this car again! btw my car has 450,000kms or 270k miles, trust me i know when it's running great.

my exhaust has been coroding for quite some time and right now it sounds like I have an aftermarket exhaust on there. I definetaly feel a loss of low end power, thats for sure. And its annoying as hell too!

Found a great link!
Hey fellas, I've found this great link to the workings of the exhaust system. It actually explains a lot in quite easily understood terms. I'm not sure if it's a repost though.

I bought another warpspeed y pipe.
Try removing the whole exhaust system and see if backpressure is such a bad thing. Moron, if you plug up the whole exhaust of course it's not good. Next time you try to make a point, run into a moving train.
Only problem with removing the whole exhaust is the gases damage everthing in the bay. I used to race motorcycles on methanol and open pipes were the best. No backpressure there. Just select the length so the resonance helps the power come in at the places you want it. A node is produced at the exhaust port every time the pipe hits the correct harmonic. Which is f/2 (half wave), f(full wave), 3f/2 etc . . . where frequency f is related to the RPM. (RPM/60 x number of cylinders). Node is a negative pressure point that actually acts like a partial vacuum to pull the exhaust gas from the cylinder. The silencer acts to detune the pipe effect and that's why you often hear complaints about poor performance when it rots out. But you must have been through school and been taught how organ pipes work in your physics course, right?
so i guess im gettin budget y-pipe as soon as i get some cash rollin ... i heard notin but good things about it ... and can somebody help me out .. i got qz about UDP. the difference between stock size one and smaller one... performance wise .. im sorry but it seems nobody can answer that q in my other thread ..
