Just Got Paint Quote

I just got a few quotes for painting and installing of my stillen front lip(just the front spoiler). One shop quoted me for $250, and another which I have had used three times in the past quoted me at $220. This seems STEEEEEP!!! Let me know what you think......

i'm looking to get a kit this spring and from what i have gathered, that really is steep. i think people have been able to get a whole kit painted for less than $500. not totally sure on that, though. keep shopping around.

yeah...painting cost alot....that's like how much they charge, i think they have to use the reflexible type of paint on the lips that's why. I got my rear bumper painted for 70 bucks from this shop i know.

Is it a used lip or a new one? Does it need to be sanded down smooth, primed, wet sanded and preped, painted and baked.....??

Yea... 200- 250 sounds right, especially if it's used.

Labor isn't cheap, neither is paint or the operation of a paint booth.

+1, used painted kits cost more to paint than a brand new unpainted kit.

wow, i hope i can find a price like that. i'm assuming they only painted the kit pieces. did they blend along the doors and bumpers at all, or is that all at an extra price? cuz if you have a color that shows fade a lot i would think that you would want blend work to be done.

...or can they match your paint somehow?

The front lip (spoiler) is brand new, both of the shops told me there is a certain process you have to do to Urathane before you can paint it. To me it sounded time consuming, or mayne just BS.

Thats very true indeed. Plus the primer and paint must have flex in it so the lip doesn't crack. Sounds like both shops are doing the job right.
