trunk problems

I got rear ended a while ago and my trunk rattles all the time now. I got a quote from a shop and they said they'd have to take off the bumper, set the trunk back and put the bumper back and just that would cost like 220.00. I don't have the money for that, but I need my trunk to stop rattling becasue I am going on a trip to panama in a bit. I was just wondering if anyone had any ideas on how I could hold the trunk down so it won't rattle without sacrificing function; I still need to be able to get in the trunk too. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I would make sure the sound system was cranked full, then the trunk rattles will be a thing of the past

Well a sound system might make that rattle even worse, no?

You didn't get money to fix it from insurance? If you were rear-ended, the other person is at fault, no?

Try using some rubber shims, to find where it is bouncing at. I had the same problem and it was the latch.
