and you thought YOU had problems..

sigh...im on spring break, and from the getgo i planend to dedicate it to maintaining da max...but sadly, **** always seems to hit the fan for me right when i just finished cleaning off the last bit of **** from before..

I got into a hit n' run on saturday. guy inna buick smash me going 5 mph...maybe 10...and because i had just got into an accident previously and had the frame pulled and fixed, the frame got pushed in a bit. i havent had a chance to take the bumper off and get a good look cuz i've been working on so much other stuff with the max.

over the last 3 days i've:

Replaced all pads
Replaced all rotors
seafoamed the engine
Changed the oil
replaced my air filter
re-wired my system ( cleaned it up )
replaced my 3rd brake light
replaced my license plate light
replaced my turn signal light

In the process of doing all this, i have discovered:

The flex section of my y-pipe is " leaking " so i need a new y-pipe
my resonator is bad
my driver side rear caliper is SIEZED
i need my frame pulled out
I need to replace my driver-side axle
My handbrake basically doesnt work

Pics of the hit n' run:

I was also in the middle a tan - black conversion. Now because of 2 accidents in less the 2 months im left with no cash, a busted up car, mechanical problems, needing new parts.. All really seems to be down for me right now :-\....

So next time you think " damnit i hate the way my speaker sounds " or.." damn i wish i had a vq35, my car feels so slow " or " damn i can never get the money to mod my car " ..i want you to take a loo kat this post and realize..you have a working car and you dont need to mod your car to make other's or even yourself happy. having a comestically and mechanically working car is a blessing in itself..and the upkeep of it is what i think all should worry about. Next time think " damn..well at least i dont have it like scoobay does "

Ohhhh man, that really sucks...

Sorry to hear that man... there are many times that I'm glad I just have a perfectly functioning max.

Look at the bright side, perfect time to upgrade your ypipe.

I agree............. kinda..... but because of your accident doesn't mean that everyone else shouldn't mod their car, or something like that.....

Nobody gets insurance anymore??? You didn't chase him or get his plate number. Call every local body shop and offer them $100 if a car by your description and damge comes in.

bummer to hear about that. but it's to be expected that things go wrong. it's a car. multiple things are going on at once and the odds that something goes wrong are fairly high. just looks like you got the short end of the stick. sorry to hear about it all and good luck in the future.

at least your car works, i'm dumb enough to get a socket stuck in the spark plug socket and take my car out of commission.

I got a hood for you for 50 bucks.

I had a similar hit and run happen on new years eve (drunk bastard backed into me), but the damage is mostly cosmetic to the bumper, not nearly as bad as yours. I got his plate, filed a police report, and I'm still waiting for the hearing (two weeks or so from now.)

So, I can kinda understand your frustration, and wish you the best of luck.
