E55 Retrofit

In middle of doing an e55 retrofit.
The projectors and shrouds are from an 06 Range Rover.
For those that have squeezed these things into their 97-99 housings,
what did you use to cover the gap between the lens and the reflector?

Some pics..

Found these steel salad bowls at a dollar store and cut the base out.
Looks ok but I need to sheer off a good chunk off the top & bottom in order
to squeeze them into the narrow opening of headlight housing.

Any other ideas?

tart tins, aluminum foil, get a sheet of aluminum from home depot

if you get some bezels they will hide the use of these items for a cleaner look

Those will work well just cut away, you can also use 4" to 3" pvc reducer sold at home depot, you have to cut the 3" part off. It's not really pvc, it looks like it but is a light plastic and easy to work with. You can also go to hidplanet.com/forums, and search hiduniversity stickies for "offical shroud thread" , tons of ideas there.

hidplanet is great resource.. the official shroud thread covers mostly e46, tsx, and other projectors with a few postings on e55. I got the salad bowl idea from there originally.

Right now space is pretty tight in the housing already and PVC reducer was a bit too thick.

On related topic how do you guys mount the projector?
I saw a thread on hidplanet where someone used a set of springs
to adjust the projector in the housing.

a rough attempt
