95 maxima, factory radio screen not lighting up..

I went to check out a maxima and the only thing wrong with it was the screen didnt light up with the radio station number, but the radio still worked..

is this a common problem? is it just a blown fuse or what?

No my 96 I30 Bose did the same thing, display would work fine and then fade away. It is a resistor inside the radio, there is instructions in the stickies how to section. Radio will work fine just no display, I bought a 99 Bose to replace it with. I going to take apart the 96 and fix the problem resistor when I have some free time.

Just get a 99 Bose if it craps out, all digital, no stupid little ***** to pull out to adjust and a bigger screen with clock. Good luck with the maxima
