Well i took my mevi off and put the USIM back on and in the process lost the egr gasket So i put everything back on and bolted it up and it worked fine. After a long drive today my car now has an annoying exhaust leak. Sounds similar to a rusty dodge caravan lol. Im hoping its just the EGR gasket and not somthing else, that would freakin suck! Anyway just a useless thread for no reason. Thank you

Being auto... And I don't have an ecu upgrade yet so the mevi kinda sucks.

 

I just replaced my intake mani, and i didnt use the EGR gasket, my car sounds and drives fine.

 

tell me what you feel different performance wise, just out of curiosity.

Yeah it had nothing to do with the gasket, something is messed up in the y pipe or the headers. It happens under load, about 1/2 throttle, so its hard to pinpoint exactly where its coming from. And for the vacuum canister I don't know, I think its from nissan?? any one that has an internal check valve should work.

MEVI, is a different manifold (those metal tubed coming out of your engine from the top (bottom too). when driving in HYW speeds. makes your car goes faster from 5k rpms to red line. ina bomshell. and about a $400 dollars upgrade. one of the major upgrades for us VQ30de's (all motor) <-------EDIT

 

Not exactly. It has nothing to do with exhaust, it has to do with air intake. It creates a "dynamic supercharging" effect when the butterfly valves open, releasing static air from the upper chamber, air bouces back and forth or something like that. Only makes power at 5k and up.

 

lol... damn!!!! I just realized something which made me feel so stupid.... "INTAKE" beeing the key word here... it is funny cuz I always understood what it did, but never 100% paid attention.


oh and Zander if it is the exaust leak; I was having the same problem with my gaskets (exaust) if the pipes bent just a little they will start leaking and make the stupid noise.... both cat converter gaskets were leaking on mine...
