which intake do I have?

Alright, so car was modified before I bought it and I have continued the work since then. I have recently noticed a discrepency in my intake. I assumed it was injen since when I bought it there were some injen rubber surrounds on it......however, from my recent reading I think it may not be injen. As shown in the picture below of my engine the intake goes into the fenderwell, isn't the only intake that goes into the fenderwell the place racing? Is there anywhere where it says place racing on the tubing if it is?

It is a place racing-style intake for sure, but I don't know if it's actually made by place racing. There are other brands (bomz, I think cattman had one for a while) that make an intake in that style that goes into the fenderwell. It is not an Injen.

What he said...
You got a CAI. Place racing is just a brand of that style of CAI. There are others... I have the BOMZ CAI myself.

Business is right. It's a place racing style. It could possibly be a different brand but is most likely place racing. The injen rubber could just be covers. So maybe it is a different brand then place racing.Whats the point of this thread tho? Do you need to replace it or something?

Did you feel a loss in your low end power after you installed? I never had my car without CAI, I don't want to start a big conversation about how they are not as good as stock, I do remember test driving a stock maxima and rember it chirping the tires into second gear, I also know my car has never done that with cai and y-pipe.

Well from what I've read in every other thread about these...you might lose low end power with just the CAI because most of them dont actually suck colder air. The one you have should. Plus the y-pipe should add a good amount of pull in your low end. So something might be wrong.

I find it hard to spin the tires from a stop... but I guess that's a good thing if im racing. Im auto so I can't tell ya anything about the chriping into 2nd. I didn't feel a loss of power because I had a HAI/short-ram before that. So it was a huge upgrade. I will never go back to stock tho, I love the CAI. I ran a 15.5 with y-pipe and the CAI, so yeah my car is faster then stock.. the intake made a difference overall if u ask me.
