Wheel hop reduced noticeably with Tokiko Illumina ???
Hi all:
So I have had my car on Tokiko Illuminas for a couple months now.
When I had the Eibach and KYB shocks (set to full soft on the front and 3/8 on the rear), I would get really harsh pounding and rapid wheel hop on my 5-speed maxima. Especially when the traction was low due to wet roads.
Now that I am on Tokiko and H&R, I have noticed that wheel hop severity has been greatly reduced, and now getting mostly clean wheelspin -- or a very mild hop vibration.
Wheels and tires are still the same. Everything else on the suspension is the same. I am running the shocks at 1/5 on the front and 3/5 in the rear.
My theory is that softer rebound damping on the front is keeping the tires more planted on the ground instead of wanting to lift with the car into the wheel well. Also, a softer rear maybe keeping dynamic weight transfer minimized.
What do you all think?
