That part you've shown replaces the Cat. I'm pretty sure you could find a Resonator for cheaper than 145 bucks though.

for roughly 100bux u can get a oem bpipe with a resonator on it and install it yourself. you can get it from any of the nissan parts website. they list it as a front muffler.

when I got my exhaust put on I had the cut the resonator off and custom make a pipe. That was 2 years ago and my car has been fine. It cost $25 extra for the custom pipe, and Meineke did it.

when you replace the resonator w/custom pipe, is there any difference in sound??? I believe it would be louder, but how much w/stock exhaust?

It depends on the rest of your exhaust system. I had it taken off while I still had the rest of the factory exhaust on and it had a perfect tone. But after I installed a high flow cat and Warpspeed y-pipe, I reinstalled the resonator (or b-pipe) because it had a raspy, bumblebee type of sound mainly around 1500-2500rpms (similar to any GM 6 cylinder- i.e. pontiac GTP or bonneville-you know the hidious sound I speak of I assume). But just removing it added freed up no power whatsoever. Actually, when i had it reinstalled after the ypipe and cat, I noticed I had more bottom end/ off the line power. Probably because of needed backpressure.
