125 amp in the place of a 110????

I was stuck about an hour and a half from home with a bad alternator in my 1996 maxima. I went to the auto parts store and they told me that they put a 125 amp and a 110 amp on those cars, but the only one they had was the 125 amp so i bought it and installed it. My old one looked a little bit smaller then the new one so im guessing i had a 110 amp. My question is the 125 amp going to be ok or am i going to run into electrical problems. Thanks in advance.

It'll be fine, most people install over-amperage alternators when they have big systems or other major electrical draw.

You'll encounter no problems from it being a 125 amp.

I thought they were all 125 amp. When I replaced mine, Autozone only had 125 and they said that was stock. But then again Autozone sucks.

The 125 was cheaper...which i find to be odd. But i had to go with the autozone duralast because it was the only place in town that had one.

Thats the one I got. It comes with a lifetime warranty which is nice. Unfortunately when I tried to jump my friends car it blew. I pulled it out and brought it back to autozone and they replaced it no questions asked.

I wonder how many HP the 125-amper sucks versus the 110-amper.

125 amp is better, expecially if you want to upgrade your sound system a little bit.

If you have a bigger Alternator that means better grounding/voltage which may result to better Fuel Mileage and or better performance is this correct? or BS

If it is raining and you have to use the rear demister and full headlights and you've got the wipers going and the air con and the stereo, then yes. Otherwise it's BS. in 4 more days
