Rear shocks removal??

Does anyone know of a DIY article for the rear struts/shocks? All I see is for the fronts, such as what is found in the haynes manual. Basicaly wht Im looking for is, where are the top bolts located for the rear struts to remove them? Do I need to take the carpet out of the trunk to get to them? Thanks.

You guessed right. You just peel back the carpet/molded plastic stuff in the trunk above where the strut goes and there's three bolts.

I'm feeling nice today so I'll give you a link to autozone's online manual:

http://www.autozone.com/servlet/UiBr...3d801f56e1.jsp

I'd feel really bad if you got killed by a spring so there's the instructions you need.

Simply tear out your quarter panel covers in the trunk there should be 3 or 4 plastic clips on each side

Yes, the truck lining that is clipped in with plastic fasteners. Keep them in a small little container there are quite a few. Once you remove the lining, you will now see three bolts on each side. The MIDDLE bolt (top hat nut) on each side is part of the STRUT ITSELF. You do not need to mess with this unless you are taking the springs off the struts. The two bolts on each side (that go into the strut tower) are the ones you want to loosen.

If you take these off, you want to support the assembly with your free hand when removing the lower mounting bolt. (with the car in the air)

After you take that out you simply drop the assembly out of the strut tower.
