is there a way to add stereo input

i was wondering if there was a way to add an extra input to the 99 bose stereo in the form of a 1/8th inch jack. that way i could just plug in my ipod or anything else into a female 1/8th inch jack, is there such an adapter to plug in the back in the cd changer spot?
thanks

Not sure about an adapter, but have you searched around for the Aux in yet?

If you have a soldering iron, you can make an aux in in 10 minutes. That's what I did with mine.

I checked in DIY to do mine. But the input level from any MP3/Ipod, is so low that you have to crank the **** on the bose HU to actually hear it. Don't forget to turn down the volume when you want to use the radio or the CD player.

I'm planning on doing something else with mine but haven't had time and money to do so.

Check out the Audio/Visual Forums. I asked this question a ways back when I got my iPod video , and there are three responses:

Option 1: Someone posted ( I still don't know why it wasn't stickied) a kick-a$$ write-up for soldering an Aux jack into a stock Bose HU.
The Pros:
Cheap, easy, and keep head unit
Cons:
Sound quality sucks, and youre gonna have to deal with low volume ( the headphone jack on an iPod doesn't supply as much power as via a dock connection)

Completely new Head Unit
Pros: iPod ready
Good Sound Quality
Custom Look and users choice of equipment

Cons:
Lots and lots of $$$$ ( 300$ is a lot of money to some people ...like me )

Radio Adaplter
Pros: cost is low, easy to use, no hot irons.....

Cons: Uses radio input( effectively broadcasting you music at low power)
So-so Sound quality .Looks clunky.

So, those are the options. Since the stock HU is kinda dated anyways, I'd go with the radio adapter until I save enough bread to spring for an entirely new HU....one with a video input and screen so I can watch my iPod videos in the car

The cassette adapter really doesnt sound too bad if you have the BOSE system.
