SP2 Exhaust Intalled :)

Just got my SP2 installed with my CE y-pipe, high flow cat and SP2 for $200 canadian Anyways theres a weird humming noise when i accelerate it sounds like its comming from the Y pipe area but i cant tell. Any ideas of what it could be? Off topic my B pipe fits nice and snug up to my car no problems at all the tip does hang abit to low below the rear bumper tho, but what can you do. Im making a video with pics and sound and it will be up ASAP

take a hose clamp and wrap it around the rubber hanger peices. The more you tighten, the higher the tip goes.

this probably sounds weird, but my y-pipe seemed to have something of a break-in period. drom when i first installed it, it had a much raspier sound and the exhaust had a strong sulfer smell. after about a week of driving, the tone mellowed out and became deeper and the smell went away. not sure if it's just the A/F ratio adjusting or what but just give it some time and it may normalize itself. hope it works for you

It's not the af adjusting.. but all the crap inside the exhaust is burning off, and the material inside the resonator is buring off.. thats why you get the weird smell, and tone changes..

The b pipe needs to be adjusted higher, the hose clamp mod and putting the bolt through in the middle instead of the bottom hole will make it higher. I had to adjust mine so you can't see it, just try a few of my suggestions and it should fix it. I would post pics but I don't know how...

After a week or two check all connections/flanges under car. Just put your hands around the flanges or any connections and just feel for leaks while the car is running. Make sure to check your bolts after it has been on for a little while so they don't come loose.

Any reason why didn't get the Budget Y & b pipe? Afterall they're local & have no hanging issues

^^^Greddy has no hanging issues...you just need to know how to install it correctly. You can make the bumper cutout prefect and the hangers are easy adjust with hose clamps for a perfect fit.

try jack up ur car, put it in neutral, and then have someone rev the engine for you. go under the jack, and check for leackage, especially at the flex section.

+1 on this. Don't adjust too high though, if you do the front hanger of the muffler will tap against the hanger connector nearest the rear wheel (experience).
