This probably has little relevance, as the damage is done, but why did you want to deactivate the door panel trunk release in the first place? To stop people from pressing the button on the door? When you are driving? They would have to be pretty determined to mess with you and your car to do that, especially when it is inconveniently located by the left side of your butt. When you are parked? Why? That button is just convenient then.

no idea..Not sure why I even worried about what was in my trunk.. But I DID fail to mention that the car was towed to a garage afterhours... and was left overnight...that may have triggered it.. The thought of what the hell is wrong with my car and how much am I supposed to tip the towtruck driver will sometimes make me do odd things..

That stuff about a chip being in your key and it costing them a crap load to re-make the key is a bunch of crap! Time and time again I am reminded how the stealership knows absolutely f*cking nothing about what they are talking about.

Did you try spraying some WD40 into the lock. I know you said it worked fine with before the latch but this is worth a try right?

If this fails I'm afraid you're just going to have to go through your amp board. Seems this one with be a tough lesson for you.

I'd say if you're going to be stupid you have to be tough but you weren't being stupid in expecting the darn thing to work the way it's supposed to.

Either that, or learn lock-picking.
Alternatively you could take up some new sports rather than poker and golf, and pretend you have a hatchback.
