When I turn the Steering WHeel I hear Groaning/ growling!

I had my front axle replaced months ago after it snapped. Now, I suddenly have this groaning every time I turn the wheel in either direction. I haven't checked the axle again yet, but the PS fluid level seems fine. What could it be?

Could be the rack or it could be the pump.
You ARE using the correct fluid? Check your handbook.

This could possibly be bad strut bearings..Check this link:

Don't use PS fluid....use Dexron III like the manual says. PS fluid will make it groan at the far limits.

I had a volvo 940 that I beat to hell, and it developed a noise like that during a move I like to call the "volvo wobble." It was losing PS fluid slowly. I just refilled it and everything was fine.

When you turn the wheel all the way to one side and hold it, does the groan continue or stop?

HELL YEAH I GOT THAT PROBLEM TOO!!!!!, got both axles replaced in the past........10 months, passenger side is BRAND new like last week the groan is somewhat annoying if i dont have my music on, but egh........... unless i can get a "quick" fix for really cheap i'm not worried cuz i'll sell it and get an IS300 this fall anyway.

Ive always thought this problem is normal when I turn the wheel to the far left or right. It's just the sound of the power steering pump. Ive noticed on larger cars, like cadillacs the sound is much louder because they have massive power steering pumps.

So it does this when it's stopped, or moving?

If it does it while moving, it may be you wheel bearing going out.

Check the boot... there may be a slight tear. Also inspect your belts... they may be bad

Did you replace the wheel bearings too or not?
