5spd swap reliability
i was curious to how reliable the 5 spd swap is after it is done. ive heard stories that the car doesnt run the same way it was, which indeed is tru because its a manual. but i just want to know the downsides to the 5 spd swap.

the swap is as reliable as the parts and effort you put into it.

here's the parts you NEED.
clutch pedal
clutch master and slave cylinders and lines.
5spd tranny
flywheel
clutch
driver's side 5spd axle
shifter linkage and shifter
all bolts for above items
Those are the only things you NEED for the swap.

not to bump the thread... but FYI you don't need the drivers side axle unless you put in the VLSD, this seems to be a common debated topic. you can use the axles from the auto (however since you need to have them out anyway, might as well change them for about 60 bucks a piece)

auto and 5spd driver's side axles are different. You need the 5spd axle.

First of all the 5spd is very realiable. Less parts to break compared to the auto. Oh another thing. Good luck with finding a 5spd they are very rare, unless you are willing to spend for a brand new one.
Edit: I got a quote from my nissan dealer for a 5spd trans brand new. $2000, $2500 + tax is that a good price?
