Koni and Progress Install

Well I installed my Koni Yellows and Progress Springs yesterday....Install went fairly smooth....Konis online directions are way better than the ones that come with the inserts.....the rears went in with out a hitch and of course the fronts were a little more difficult having to suct the OEMS and all...But i am happy with every thing overall..right now i have the fronts set and full soft and rides good..and the progress springs ride nice but when dipping into corners stiffen up nicely....the rears are set in the middle and will stay there cause they are a pain to adjust but feel good where they are anyway....i am hoping to get pics up later this afternoon of before and after.......I didnt get a chance to snap any shots while doing the install SORRY.....but before and afters will be up.....All in all I highly recommend the KONIs better than AGX and Illuminas i have had both...but be prepared to spend some time installing them....

Sounds good, those should be much more reliable than coilovers.

Progress are the best springs IMO. They offer a great drop and nice ride. I will be getting rid of mine though, I need to mike my car higher because of the lip kit. I plan to get H&R...

Very nice, I also have Koni yellows and Progress. One of my Konis will actually slowly work itself to full soft after you adjust it, so I just leave my two fronts on full soft ATM. You're right though, they do ride pretty well, especially for aftermarket and how well they handle. I love this combo.

I only wish that you could adjust compression as well as rebound on the Konis... but alas, you can't have it all...

how much do the koni's run? What is the drop of the progress? I want to lower the car but i dont want anything extreme plus i am get either 18's or 19's so i want to make sure i have enough clearance. Will these work or will i need a differnt spring.

Progress should be fine, they ride well and corner well. Konis are pretty expensive (I think ~$500-600 per set of four) and Progress springs will drop you ~1.7". I have had no problems with rubbing or stock bump stops, and I'm using 245/45R16.

yea Konis ran me about 550 when all said and done....progess is about a 1.7" drop like said and even....all i can say is that the corners i was carving on the way to and from work were scarey with my S-tech AGX combo now the car takes them soooooooooo much better with more room to push...and i even took my FSTB off and mean while the fronts are still set at full soft.....i am gonna stiffen them up a bit for tomorrows ride.....yes u willpay more for KOnis than Illuminas but IMO way worth it...sure the backs are a ***** to adjust but i have them set about in the middle and its a great compromise especially if ur running a RSB u dont need full stiff for the rear.....the fronts will only see full stiff on Track and Auto-X events

no i didnt trim them...i only trimmed the bump stops a lil bit like .5-.75" max. so far havent bottmed out or anything...i dont even think i have hit the bumpstops yet i hit some nice potholes on the way to work.....the ***** make it nice...the rears are a ***** u have to fully compress the strut and turn so like a i said i set them somewhere in the middle and left them and so far it seems to be good

I know im gonna go with the yellows but i dont want that far of a drop (yea i know a little wired) i plan on gettin the Stillen lip kit and i work in downtown Louisville and the roads suck so i down want to bump and scrape everything. How do you think the ride will be with the yellows/s-tech set up?

S-techs lower MORE than Progress. Talking like a 2.2"F/1.8"R drop. And the spring is too soft to counteract such a low drop, so you're going to be shooting yourself in both feet if you buy them with your explaination.

Good to see you got a new suspension setup to your liking, can't wait for some pics.

I thought the s-tech's were the ones that didnt have the huge drop, im guess it is the h-techs. How would those be with the yellows? What kind of ride do they offer? Thanks for the help.

h techs are the milder drop, and I believe they should offer a smooth ride, however I haven't read a lot of first hand comments about them.

If you have any more questions, ask them in a seperate thread. This is enough of a hijack already...haha. Sorry for the hijack man...
