Which one is the best??? I see two intakes that they make...a HIgh Flow Intake and a MegaFlow intake the mega flow is 250 and the High Flow is 200...

 

I don't know where you saw "megaflow", but Stillen only offers one intake for the 4th gen... the Hi-flow cone intake for ~200 bucks.

Buy that one.

I think he probably saw the HKS one.. I believe it is called the SUPER MEGA FLOW.

 

the stillen is good , but if you dont mind shelling out a few more bucks , id go with the place racing cold air intake, thats what im packing , its greati noticed and instant increase in power ... but the stillen is still just as good probably

 

i'm planning on purchasing the stillen intake, but whats this i hear about losing low end on auto max's? and also losing the smoothness of my max...i really wouldn't want to give that up. but i heard a max fly by me a few weeks ago at WOT, and the sound just blew me away. sounded like a nice v8.

 

Paying $200 for a cone intake is outrageous. Go for the JWT Pop intake. Its the same as the Stillen one but much cheaper ~100 new.

It IS a K&N filter....someone back me up here.

 

I say go w/ Stillen. Not only do you get the K&N filter, installation is easier than the cold air intake--plus you don't have to cut any holes into the frame. IMHO, a novice can install the Stillen hi-flow (i installed mine). I got mine in a group deal for like $160 or so from avalon racing--check around!!

Actually, I think the JWT intake does not use a GENUINE K&N cone. I remember reading that the Stillen one does, but the JWT does not. However, I do believe that the hp gains should be pretty similar. Also, the sound should be about the same. To me, I would get the JWT.

 

I think that JWT does use a genuine K&N filter, I think Phuong at GR racing might have told me that a while ago but Im not sure.

The filters look exactly the same and sound exactly the same, the extra price for the Stillen Intake goes towards the STILLEN logo on the top of the air filer.

 

If you have a 95 or 96, get the Stillen since it has an opening for the air intake temp sensor.

As mentioned, Stillen uses a genuine K&N and JWT uses a generic.

$110 for the JWT vs. $160 for the Stillen.

Also, If I get a JWT intake, do i hafta drill a hole for the air intake temperature sensor for my 96 Maxima? Damn, now i'm debating which intake I should get now!

 

Well, if you live in a state that requires smog certifications, the Stillen is smog legal. It's worth the money as I have to take my JWT out every other year or so...

Also, I think the bracket that Stillen uses to support the intake is slightly better than the one that JWT provides. However, I have no complaints with the JWT.

This is certainly a different take on this subject compared to past posts. Most threads have been in overwhelming favor of the JWT because it is cheaper and is basically the same thing.

If you have a 95-96 and want a quick install that takes about 10 minutes, the Stillen I suppose would be the easiest way to do it.

As for the Air temp sensor holes coming stock on the Stillen air filter, the drill job is not hard at all and is definatley not worth the $50 or so extra dollars. Some people dont even drill into the air filter but simply tuck the sensor into the filter.

 

No, not really. If I had a 97+ I'd get the JWT. If I had a 95 or 96 I'd get the Stillen. Yeah, you can tuck away the temp sensor or drill yourself, but I'm lazy like that and prefer having something then & there ready to screw in (Stillen).

 

It's isn't TECHNICALLY a K&N filter...it's a generic one that looks a works EXACTLY the same as a K&N. You can even use the K&N cleaning kit for it.
