120,000 Mile Service

So its 80 degrees out today and as usual on hot days my car is slow as ****...It just doesnt seem to want to pick up in any gear...its worst than my father's corolla...so i was wondering if it would be wise to get the highest service they have on my 99 max?...which I think is the 125,000 mile service...my car has 146,000 miles and i dont think it has ever been serviced by the previous owners...

How long have you had it and what was the mileage when you got it?

Basically you need to do the 60K service all over again, with particular emphasis on all fluids, belts, hoses, inspection of CV boots, exhaust, suspension, steering etc.

Replace the PCV valve, fuel filter and spark plugs. Check the air filter. Clean the throttle body, IAC valve, EGR system.

Check for codes - have the oxygen sensors and knock sensor been replaced?

Run some Chevron Techron, BG44K or Gumout Regane through the fuel system.

I've had it a little over a year now...I purchased it with 124,000 miles on it...I IS coded for an oxygen sensor bank 1, but i didnt think that did much to the car...I usually run the STP full fuel system cleaner every so often (Maybe every 7,000 miles or so)...oh by the way its a 5 Spd..

A defective O2 sensor can affect your performance and gas mileage significantly, you should get it changed.

And use a universal sensor. OEM sensors are damn expensive. I'm not good at wiring and stuff, but the uni's are very easy.

Unfortunately the O2 sensor does not affect full throttle performance. It's only used during cruising, and mostly people notice a bad gas mileage. Your problem is likely elsewhere - have you pulled the ECU codes?

Do you have an aftermarket intake on it?

There is no aftermarket intake in the car...and the only codes that were pulled were the O2 sensor...other than that...the ECU thinks the car is fine...
