I'm planning on getting my car tinted tomorrow morning; and I was wondering what percentage would look good for my car - I own a '98 Pebble Beige. I was thinking of getting 5% just done on the rear side windows and the main rear as well. I live in New Jersey so I don't really want to bother with the front windows cuz I can't afford any tickets right now. I've seen 15% on other cars, and I think that looks good as well..but just wondering what do you guys recommend for my car? (Pebble Beige) Also, I heard with 5% it gets kinda hard to see through the windows at night?

5% is real dark cant see in or out. I would get atleast 15%. The price is about right it usually around 140-180 when doing the front ones to.

 

Mine was 140 for all 4 of them and the back windshield... What color is your car? Mine is Black and i have 35 on the front and 25 on the back... I dont know about 5 though becuase i used to have 12 and it was really hard to back out and stuff at night

 

No matter what you do, do NOT GET 35%. you will not be happy with it.

 

just yesterday i got 13% on all my rears and 43% on the fronts (the stupid shop wouldnt illegally tint my front windows). i like it alot, except the fronts are too light, when i move in like 4 months up to SLC im gonna get the fronts 20%. i paid 155 for all 4 of my windows. go on my homepage (cardomain) to see pics. i think the rears are just perfect.

 

20 all around, couldnt be happier (5 windshield banner too FTW!)

To me 5% is the most pleasing appearance-wise. Whether or not you feel you can tolerate that while driving with that visibility is your decision though. I'm planning on going with a 15% in the rears and 30 or 35% in the front (California laws)

 

I have 15% Matico tint all around(minus the windshield obviously). Its perfect for me. The only time you can see in is in direct sunlight, sort of like this pic below, but otherwise it looks like 5%.





The 03 next to mine has 5% rear window and 15% on the sides. Its a good combination.

We never got in any trouble with NJ cops about our tints. Everything has been cool with me.

 

your car is a vert light color so don't get anything lighter then 20%

 

15% on mine and it's perfect, dark but you can still see fine.
