Changing Alternator (arghhh)

After about 2 hours of progress we had to leave the car, soaking the A/C Compressor bolts in Liquid wrench. Those SOBs just refuse to come off. Just getting to half the bolts is a real pain.

I'm working with a friend who's done alternators before and he said my car is the hardest he's worked on. So yea, just venting.. I'm sure the savings will be worth it in the end.

And if anyone knows the best way to remove the electrical clip from the alternator I'd appreciate the advice.

you must use a good breaker bar for the compressor mounting bolts. Those bittches are tight

Thanks for the help. After waiting a couple of hours, my friend was actually able to loosen the compressor bolts by pushing the rachet with his foot while I held it in place. It was still a PITA but I'm relieved to say the least.

Still having an issue though, check my other thread here:
