Perhaps it's a Cali-spec vs. Fed-spec emissions difference.

No strut bar FTW. You can buy my old strut bar for 15 bucks if you want Mike. Only reason I took it off was because I work on the engine too often and it always got in the way.

I just take the bar off and leave the brackets when working on the engine, 2 mins tops, 14 mm on one side and allen key on the other. Cali specs have four plugs in the front fed have two, in front of the valve cover. That is strange the 95 auto 4DRSpeed maxima has does not have the valve, possibly only 96-98 have this. Glad I got the cheap $15 fleabay bar, the expensive ones look cool, but not worth the money IMO.

I have a '99 fed spec and I've never seen such a thing near the strut bar and throttle body.
