IIRC Frodos Maxima (he may have changed his name) has the 5.5 17's on stock suspension.

I don't have a pic, but it looks really bad and kills the handling

Absolutely not true......

My car with 17" rims sitting on "stock" Nissan springs.
Rides fantastic and handles awsome.

look at that wheel gap, it would look so much better with a simple drop.oh and I had 18's not 17's, but the car rode like a 4x4

I noticed that on Maximas the wheel gap in the back is larger than the front. Simple solution: put a system in the trunk.

Thanks for starting the thread. I'm shopping for new rims, too. More for cosmetics/to look not-stock/etc.

I run the front springs from a 5 speed in my auto. Brings the front down about 1/3 of an inch which makes the front gap equal to if not a hair smaller then the stock rear gap. 17 inch wheels look fine on the car, Illuminas control the ride & handling.

Thanks for mentioning that, I was wondering what it looked like since JSutter mentioned the difference in length a couple weeks ago.

Good info there Tom. So did you get tired of "lowered" ride feel?

You used to run H&R's right? By any chance do you have those forsale? I want to get rid of my Progress because with the lip kit, it is quite low.
