Cylinder 5 Misfire

Hey guys, Well 2 days ago i went to get gas because it was getting low, so i left at around 11:00 and when i took off in first i didnt notice it untill i got into second and put my foot down a bit and i noticed the car was hesitating like crazy. The CEL never came that time, but when i came back i wanted it to come on so i could find out the code so i put my foot down in 2nd in low rpm and sure enouhg the little orange light in the bottom right comes on. I checked the codes with the snap-on mt2500 and it said cylinder #5 is missfiring. As of now im pretty sure its the coilpack, but id like to hear some other opinions before i go tear it out and replace it. Other then the missfire its not bad untill you get past 3000rpm then you really feel it. The car has 286,000kms original engine/clutch it is a 5spd, 98 maxima se. it idles fine and starts fine just it misses in the higher rpm. Any input would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks
Chris

switch the coilpack with #3 and check the dtc's again. if it changes to #3 then it is the coil.
i had this happen just 2 weeks ago. the bad thing is if you bring it to a dealer, they have to change all 6. good thing i work at a dealer and i just took on from a tech that had them lying around.

yeah im brining it into my shop tomorrow and ill pull out the plugs and then check the coil pack on #5. Ill do what 99black5spd suggested and swap coilpacks and see if i get missfire in the #3 cylinder.

the dtc will either be P0303 or P0305 for a misfire

alright i checked the resistence of the coil, i am at school right now and i dont have acess to my shop manual but compared to my #4 coil pack the resistence is quite off, for my #4 coil i got 1.84M and for my #5 coil i got 1.6M. Not sure if its safe to assume it is for sure my # 5 coil, but i will try swapping the #5 for the #4 tonight when i get home.
