Rear Bank O2 Sensor Question.

Changing the O2 sensor on the rear bank of my 95 max. My original O2 sensor has 3 wires, but Bosche universal O2 sensor has 4 wires, red, black, white, white. The wiring instructions are crap since they don't list maxima's on there. I figured, red is power, black is ground, the 2 whites: one signal, and one heater wire. I wired the 2 whites together onto my Factory's grey wire for signal. Now I'm getting an 0505 code which is "no code".

Dude, this is weird. Did anyone wire up an aftermarket O2 sensor? How to without a code?

This has some wire color references for Bosche universals...

You may have the wrong O2 sensor type for the '95 model.

What I got for 95 Maxima V6 - 3.0L - VQ30DE. It's a three-wire, unlike my 98MaximaSE:

thanks, i know what's my problem now. i have a set of the 97-99 cattman's full exhaust (header+cat converter+catback) which takes in the 97 o2 sensors, which has 4 wires. but my car is a 95, which only has 3 wires.

my cattman's fast-cat doesn't have a o2 bong on it, so i must see if anyone has experienced converting o2 from 95 to 97, just on the rear bank, though.
