How to remove bolt on tranny

I'm trying to refill my manual transmission, but I'm not sure what type of socket I need to remove it. anyone know what type of socket I need to remove that bolt on my manual tranny?

The filler plug takes a 1/2" square drive - ratchet, breaker bar, whatever you have.

to drain the fluid you will need a size 12mm wrench i believe and its at the rear of the tranny. You should invest in a gear wrench.
