my max has the hiccups

ok i just changed my plugs to iridium and now the max has he hiccups. What it does is that while it idles, it will drop rpm to below idle and back up right away every 5-10 seconds. i have no idea what is causing this . any suggestions. btw plugs are pre gapped so i know it's not the gap.
also does annyone have that problem where you can't get ur idle to hit 750 rpms. mine does 600 rpm and when i try to adjust it slightly it jumps up to 1500rpm. there is no gradual climb. any help would be appreciated . thanks in advance

Have you checked the usual trouble spots? Check your ECU codes; clean the throttle body if you haven't in a while.

TB cleaning really helped my idle and a bad knock sensor code was holding me back also. After I cleaned the KS grounds my ecu was clear and the car's been doing alot better. I also just installed iridiums (NGK) so I assume it's not them.

I have a '99 with an ecu code of 201 only. Any idea of where to start?

I had a similar problem, replaced my fuel filter and belts and got the car back without the rpm problem. My guess is the fuel filter in my case.

Worth cleaning the MAF plug/socket, a poor connection there can cause exactly the problem you describe.
