I think a higher force is calling out for you to keep you Max and make it a 5sp. Check it out http://forums.maxima.org/showthread.php?t=471055

keep it and get a 5spd tranny....... or just get a used auto tranny and install it. dont get a rebuild. used auto installed shouldnt be more than $700 installed.....

whats the point of selling it with a blown tranny? not only ud lose all the money u spend on the mods, ud have to sell the car for much lower than its value. all in all u have to cash out $

You definently need to keep that. Put in a 5 speed swap and tear up the streets. That is too hot to sell

Well, that part of the problem i bought a tranny from a 99 Infiniti I30 with LSD and 20K on it. The transmission shop just called me and said it has a crack in it. No one around here welds aluminum (that's what im being told the housing is made of). I bought new axles and everything.

Im just fustratted right now and my brother and dad are saying get rid of it.

Edit: I didn't exactly blow it, is slips into 2nd and 3rd and won't go in reverse.

VIP your max is one of the reasons I keep modding. Yours is super clean. Take pics when you get the clear headlights/black housing.

I think a place in Rocky Hill will weld Aluminum. Let me check it out before I get your hopes up though.

Can't you take the internals from the cracked one and put them into the original?

Try ARC Dynamics in Rocky Hill. 860-563-1006. They may do it and they do a real good job. If not someone was saying there is a place called White Welding and they weld aluminum too.

BIG on the 5-speed option. If you don't know how to drive stick, do it anyway and learn. You will thank us for pressuring you later.

5sp swap, period. Find someone who welds aluminum or sell it off and get another tranny.

5Spd Swap PLEASE!!! Your car is too nice. Look how many people are telling you. I just bought a 5Spd 98 SE and I LOVE it. My 95 GLE auto is still in the driveway and I don't miss it at all. Prior to the car, I hadn't driven stick for about 2-3 years. I am still struggling, but I am getting better. It is worth it.
