00VI info ?
00VI info ?
I'm just about to change my knock sensor on my Oz spec 95 maxima and recall reading about the 00VI mod, Is this a worthy mod while I have the manifolds off to get to the sensor ? Has anyone got dyno proof, I can get all the manifolds quite cheap $150AUS.
I tried search and doesn't work, any info on this would be great

Hey MR - Auckland, NZ here.
We have a more local website "www.maxima.org.nz" if you car to join us mate.
Me and another kiwi are looking to install the upper and lower 00VI intake manifolds - either that or just swap in the whole VQ30DE-K engine.
SSS Automotive or Adelaide Dismantlers are
pretty good options for you.

I'm surprized no one has let you know this yet - but you don't need to remove the manifolds to replace a knock sensor.
Other than that, yes, it is very worthwhile. But as I said, you don't need to remove the manifolds to get to the knock sensor - the procedure is outlined in the stickies.
Or is there a difference between US spec Maximas and OZ spec Maximas that won't allow you to replace it in the same way?

By the way you didnt need to remove the intake manifold to replace your knock sensor. You just gave yourself a whole load of extra needless work. If your gonna put that 00vi man all i know is you need extra adapter plates. Other than that maybe you should just got with Mevi, with a rev-limiter. its way easier to install.
Get yourself an extension and socket with u-joint...done!
