6th Gen 18's on a 4th Gen -- What size tires?
I know people have done this before, but I couldn't find any specific examples. I'm putting the 18" wheels from the 6th gen Max on my 4th gen. I'm not interested in dropping the car whatsoever, but I want to fill that wheel gap. Does anyone have a recommendation for the proper size tire? The wheels are 18/7.5. I'm thinking about getting 225/40/18 tires because they have approximately the same outer diameter. Will this fit? Does anyone have any other suggestions? I'd consider a slightly larger tire if it fits and fills more wheel gap. Of course, then I'd probably have to recalibrate the speedo. Thanks.

225/40/18 is close... it's .91% too small. So istead of doing 60, your speed-o will show 60.5. Not too different.
If you go 235/40/18 you will get about as close as you can go. You will show 59.7 mph when actually at 60. Much closer and you gain additional width in the tread. I think the 7.5" rim can handle it, if not you are safe with a 225.
Go here and play around with tire sizes:

I have 225/40/18's on my 98 SE and It is almost spot on. Tire rubber can vary a little bit though depending on manufacturer. There is a DOT specified range of acceptability on tire height and width. All 225/40/18's and 235/40/18's are close enough.
