I took the tails apart and tinted the reflectors. I used the spray tint used for model cars and such. It had to go on in VERY light coats to keep from running. There's probably 7-8 coats there. I didnt use the NiteShades because it seemed to have a bit of a reddish tint to it.

From the looks of it, it seems they smoked the actual clear lenses themselves, and didnt paint the housings at all.

On my "JTM" The clear lenses are tinted AND the housings are painted gloss black. Looks real classy especially at night.
