Cleaned TB, now i got hesitation

I cleaned my TB the other day and ever since my car hesitates when i hit the gas. I noticed some ripped rubber around the MAF where those clamps are(the ones you tighten with a screw).

Question 1: Would a TINY intake leak cause severe hesitation while accelerating?

Question 2: If so wouldn't it also hesitate while hitting the gas in park? because it doesn't do it in park.

yes, that leak is after the MAF it would cause problems if you are taking in air from that point. Put a peice of duct tape over it and then crank the car, it should run fine. If that fixes it then you just need to get a new rubber peice.

is that rubber circle part of the MAF? part of that black box? OR, is it an independant piece? Autozone didn't know.

Anyone have the answer to this?

I think you're absolutely right. Now i need to figure out where to get it and what it's called.

Thanks man!

I think that rubber part is just apart of the stock midpipe, just tape that biatch up and see if that stops the hesitation, report back like a soldier!

No problem. If you do want to replace that part, I would just go to the dealer, I am guessing its not that expensive, and I doubt that is a part that you can get at a parts store. You may also look thru the parts f/s section, someone may sell you one. I may actually have it, if you have a better picture of the part rather than that far away one. I have not had a stock intake set up on either one of my cars in such a long time I don't really remember what you are talking about.

if its not the air leak its likely the tps sensor. did u disconnect while cleanning? if so thats your problem, it needs to be set to 500 ohms.

I taped it up with electric tape but i need to buy some duct tape. It may have helped it a bit but i'm not really sure because the hesitation happens intermittently. I'll let you guys know if the duct tape works. For some reason i think it will.

It's a real shock what a small leak or gap in the connective tubing/piping between the throttle body and the POD filter (air box) does to a Maxima.

Why did you bend it? Should of taken the whole intake off, really easy.

I didn't bend it all permanently, only while i was trying to take off piece 10 on the diagram. But I later realized what you just said. Take off the whole intake. LOL!

If it's something expensive to replace, or not worth replacing, I would just get an Ebay intake.
