OMG! The Skyline comes to USA spring of '08!!!

I was running around the nissanusa site, and they announced that the Skyline (Nissan GT-R) will be released spring of 2008, and under the Nissan badge (not Infiniti like most people thought ) I'm already making plans to get one since it's right when I graduate, it's gonna carry a 68,000 dollar price tag so I think i'm gonna have to drop a heavy down payment AND trade in my MAX, so I was wondering would I recieve a "customer loyalty rate" and if so about how much is that for a 95 MAX?

you wont get **** for trade in. and if its right when you graduate how will you have a down payment lol? buy a house before you buy a car. ive seen so many ppl make the mistake of getting the new bmw or somthing and end up renting and barley making it. but if u want to spend 70k on a car go for it lol.

That would be the stupidest purchase of your life. Why would you buy something that expensive out of college when you have no major job right off the bat and you will need somewhere to live, food, clothing. I would much rather buy me a nice house then have a job then in a year or 2 go buy me that special car after you get settled in and got your living costs figured out.

trade in your almost 10 year old car. you'll be lucky to get 2000$ at that point.

I am not too sure on the specs but The RB26DETT was the last version of the skyline they made(back in the day). Its a 2.6L inline 6 twin turbo motor. Lots and lots of potential for upgrades and the car i hear is very good with mods(responds well to mods). Then you have the AWD that was once the most intelligent systems they had at the time
As far a BMW vs Skyline. I really dont know, I have to think about it. I love the M5(real monster) but as a young kid, i want a 2dr that turns heads in which the M3 turns heads but its all too common. Thats just me.

The skyline you get will be a completely new body style. It's not going to look much like the R-34 gen at all. I would spend $90K on an imported R34 GT-R than $70K on a 2008. I don't like the style, severe injustice to the skyline. My $.02

A 95 Maxima trading in for a New Skyline is .... Almost a joke.

Where does he want his monthly payments to be.. .... Might want to think of a 2nd mortgage for just the down...

A 20y/o with that big of a tab.. ... But that's just IMO.

omg, you too!? OP, you have created a failing thread. please step away and try again. even if it was in the correct forum, does it even make sense? unless your parents are going to buy you a brand new car, this ain't gonna happen. and the trade-in value at a stealership is awful right now, let alone in two or so years.

man this thread sucks.. btw that new skyline is the ugliest thing known to man.. even if it does boast the VQ35DETT, its already been done to many a 350z and G35. Yet I suppose its always a neater touch when they turbo cars right when they roll off the assembly line though.

Aren't people suppose to be broke during and after college? Then you get a job and pay back your student loans for the rest of the best years of your life. Then maybe by then you'll have money to get a house and perhaps start a family. Then soon after, start worrying about not being broke by the time you retire because you won't have social security to assist you by then.

All in all, no matter how you dice it, getting a $60k+ car right after college is actually not very smart.

Unless you have rich parents and everything up to this point in your life was given to you by your parents and they are getting you your Skyline as well, then good for you. I'd love to be in your shoes.
