washer fluid dirty, how can i clean reservoir?

the fluid coming from my nozzles is dirty. the splatter that the wipers don't hit leaves dirty splatters, not water spots. the spray that lands on the hood dries dirty.

how can i clean out the reservoir? i was thinking just sticking the garden hose in it, flushing it out, the running all the water out throught the nozzles and refilling it with washer fluid.

Stick a hose down the reservoir and siphon the solution out on the ground. Fill with water and repeat until what drains out the siphon is clear.

Running it out through the pump and washers may plug the washers or damage the pump if there is a lot of grit.

if i were to run water into it, all the dirt should cycle out through the overflow. i dont suppose washer fluid or water would damage anything under the hood thats close by, right? then i could just syphon out the water.

why dont you just constantly spray all of it out and then just run water into then. washer fluid is like 99cents a gal.

Throw a hose in it, let it run for a while.. the dirt should flow out eventrually.. Then just run the pump fo r a bit to clear it out.

runnin the fluid right through may clog up your nozzles, i say just overfill it with water and let it overflow until it becomes clear, then drain and put some washer fluid and you should be good to go
