difference between 95-96 & 97-99 grills??

I need some help...this is the deal. I want to get the radiator cooling plate on Larrio GD http://forums.maxima.org/showthread.php?t=470504. Well he said it was for a 97-99 max. I have a 96. I was wondering what is the difference. 1) Would the plate fit on my car? 2)Would it fit if I have 97-99 grill and cefiros?? I'm not actually sure what the plate bolts to. But I was wondering if it would fit...or if anyone have made any modifications to this to make it fit. So I basically need to know the difference between the two 95-96 and the 97-99 front ends...

Wrong! The 97+ grill is taller than the 96. When I changed the grill out of my 95 to a 97+ I had to trim off the bottom portion of the legs to make it fit otherwise it was too tall to fit inbetween the hood and the bumper. See signature pic below.

People have installed a 96 grill on their 97+ maximas and there is a gap on the bottom between the grill and the bumper.

I posted up a comparison before, here ya go...

Those are the only differences that I remember. I dont recall the top portion of the grill being different so I dont know why the rad. shroud wouldnt be interchangable.

The hood latch is right up against the top side of the 97+ grill so it's a bit tricky to find it when someone tries to get the hood opened. Not sure why. I usually do it for them.

Theres a big difference in the style. If you can't tell the difference between a 95 and a 97-99 grille you are insane..
