Help with tranny removal...
I am in the middle of changing my clutch...this will be my 3rd time taking the tranny out now but now I can't get any of the axles to come loose. Am I missing a simple step? I am so close to running my car 117mph (dang governer) into a brick wall and be done with it.
The driver side axle is very simple, I just yanked on mine not to hard and it popped out. But the passenger side I have the issue with it. Can't get it off even if I get the three bolts out. Interested in this thread too, to help me out.

The bracket position is located on the block with a tight tolerance pin. It may be slightly seized in place and have to be pried away from the block. Once the bracket is free from the block, the axle will pull out easily as there is no retaining clip to overcome like on the driver's side.

Yes, it is probably seized in that bearing bracket. I used a sharp cold chisel and mallet and drove the chisel in the split between the bracket and bearing housing. I also soaked that split with PB Blaster. After some pounding it finally started to separate. If you have trouble getting it started, it may help to use a disc cutter on a dremel to make a shallow (say, 1/16" deep), thin (1/16" wide) cut right along the center of the split. Then drive apart the surfaces made by the cut with your chisel.
