Can someone give me a pointer to instructions for this ? Is this a PITA replacement or a gimme ?

 

gimme....loosen nut on tensioner pulley (14mm I believe) then use a 14mm socket on the tensioner assembly to loosen the belt. Take off belt, route the new belt on correctly, tighten the tensioner assembly so the belt is at a similar deflection to the old belt, tighten the 14mm nut on the tensioner pulley. Done

5-10 min job tops

 

for the NOOB to serp belts..there are 2 on our cars....and it takes a lil more than 10 min if he has no clue what he is doing

 

Do you have a place to work on your car? Are you capable of using tools and knowing which tools to use? DO you have a repair manuel like chiltons or hays? <--- this will help you a lot. Over all if you have all three of these it's a gimme repair.

 

The power steering pump belt is definitely more tricky. You have to loosen the pump pivot bolt in addition to the tensioner adjust and bracket bolt. The pivot bolt is hidden behind the pump.

ya it took me about 30-40 mientes to do both just beacuse the power stearing belt was kinda tricky but its not hard at all to do i took of my front tire to give me alot more room.

 

No. I hate when people give such ridiculous numbers.

It is not difficult, but you can't exactly do it over a commercial break.

and an oil change takes 1-4 minutes..hahahah

Expect to spend about a half hour on it. If your changing your power steering belt as well, thats a bit more difficult. You need to loosen the adjuster on the pump on the top, then youll need to get up underneath by the Y-pipe and loosen a 14mm bolt that drops the entire pump down a bit. Kinda a pita.
