LED signals

Hey guys I have cleared tails and clear bumbers and during the day I realized that the bulbs I have dont light up that well. They show basically right where the bulb is and dont light up the whole lens well. I wanted to do a wide range amber LED in all the clear lens but I read before that the LED's have to be wired differently to work. Is that right? Or can I buy wide range 1157 and 1156 amber LED's online and pop them right in? Thanks for the help!

Anyway to get a colored LED? I like having the tint of the colored bulbs during the day.

Most LED bulbs need a load resistor tapped inline the power wire in order for them to light up and function. Very easy to install. The load resistor can be purchased at Autolumination.com.

All it is, is a small in-line resistor that increases the amperage for the LED bulb. If you try to put an LED bulb in a 12V socket, the car won't recognize it because the amperage is too low (it'll think the bulb has burned out). Look here....http://www.autolumination.com/ and you'll see what I'm talking about. (On this site, the call it a "load equalizer".) You'll need a pair for left and right side of car.

yeah I did look already. so its just a 12v to whatever volt the LED is? Every LED will need a resistor correct?

Correct, if the bulb is made with LED's. You'll need a load resistor no matter what, or the bulb will not light up at all.
