Ants in car

I came home form College today to find a Ant colony living in my car. ( So much for my parents taking care of it while I was away .) It's not inside Inside my car but its inside the front driver side fender. My goal tomorrow is to take aprt the fender and hopfullyget to the colony that way. But before I do that, Does anyone know of a better way to get ants out of your car? Water, compressed air, Raid, etc.

gas + flame... **** man that sux sorry to hear it. if they're all inside the vehicle, then an ant bomb, i don't know if it'll knock them all out if they're inside & outside of your car. ant bomb might screw some interior stuff up too... i dunno...

just clean them out as best you can, maybe hose down the area/use and killer spray or something. but just make sure to drive it often for the next week or so. constantly moving will help to get any others to fall out hopefully.

A little spray of WD-40 will kill them far more efficiently than any incecticide.

Gasoline makes a great ant killer too. Not so good for the environment but if you pour gas on anything it dies instantly.

You forgot the part about holding the lit match in front of the WD-40 can.

I think I would put a plexiglas window in the wheel liner and trim it with neon and enter in the next car show.

Seriously, a hose and water is all I think you'll need.

Ha well I thought it was in the wheel liner area but when I started pulling panels off in side my car I found thousand of eggs and ants I feel Like I'm fighting some type of war. As of right know Iam in the process of pulling up my driver side carpet because there are thousands of ant eggs underneath there. I'm freaking out!!

Sounds like alien invasion ......too bad.

If I were you, I will remove them as much as possible first. Then place some ant baits in the car and outside the car where it's parking. The baits will kill ants slowly but completely.

How unusual the situation is!

Try 10 car-washes at the local gas station. They really have the wax treatment...

Oh if they're in the cabin that does NOT sound good.

I guess it's a good thing that ants don't smell bad when they die.

They smell bad when you kill about 20 plus with in one area and then clean it up. Well I ended up taking my whole interior out besides my dash.I had thousands of ants and eggs underneath my carpet. I killed most of them but I know that there are still a good number of them still living. SO tomorrow I'm going out and buying ant traps and putting them all over the place in my car. Hopfully that will kill all of them and I can drive around town ant free knowing that I dont have to reach down every two seconds to kill a ant crawling up my leg.

eggs? don't ant colonies have one queen that lays eggs in a central location? maybe she had trouble find a spot in your car...

i mean, i gotta think that if you get down to just the workers, they'll die eventually without a food source (find that!!), and they won't be able to reproduce. if the queen's colony is somewhere near the car, try parking it elsewhere and hope the colony won't find your car again.

I'm going to park it on the street for a week or so and see if they are all gone by then.
