De-Lining Glass
De-Lining Glass
First off, is the glass of the stock fog lights ('95-'96 specifically, but it doesn't matter much) really that much a part of the beam pattern of the fog lights? It just seems like vertical lines to me more so that the housing isn't so see-through or matches the glass headlights better. Or is the beam pattern (or lack thereof) more dependent on the reflector?
If the lines on the glass are indeed involved in the beam pattern, do any of you have suggestions as to how I might go about removing them safely or atleast reducing them? (Yes, I'm aware they are on the inside of the lense)
Don't ask why...that's a secret.

Planning on HID projectors for your fogs? I've had that idea before, but never really felt like spending so much on something like that, though Lexus has some nice projector fogs on their lineup.
I think the beam pattern is mostly a function of the reflector housing, not the lines in the glass. I would think that one could just grind out the protruding lines in the rear of the glass, and make it totally smooth without incident. Even if you do and it does slightly mess up the beam pattern, it's not really going to hurt much (especially if you're switching to alternative lighting there).

Are you using the stock reflector housing, or is that revealing too much?
